Abstract

This study analyzes phonological errors in Arabic pronunciation among fifth-grade students at SDIT As-Sabiquun and identifies the factors contributing to these errors. A descriptive-analytic design integrating quantitative approaches was employed. Data were collected through classroom observation, pronunciation tests, and questionnaires. The results indicate that students continue to experience frequent errors in pronouncing phonetically similar hijaiyah letters, notably substituting س for ش, ح for خ, أ for ع, and ك for ق. The most dominant errors occurred in makhraj and letter-property aspects, totaling 300 cases: 111 lapses, 66 errors, and 123 mistakes. In addition, errors in the pronunciation of tasydid were also found in 300 cases consisting of 95 lapses, 91 errors, and 114 mistakes. The factors that cause pronunciation errors are influenced by internal and external factors, such as lack of pronunciation practice, the influence of mother tongue, low habit of reading Arabic texts outside the classroom, and limited support of the learning environment.
