Abstract

This study discusses sustainable materials derived from plastic waste-based materials. The objective of this research is to understand the process of transforming plastic waste into exploratory materials capable of fulfilling every aspect required for a material to be considered sustainable. Waste is a problem faced by nearly every region, city, and country; therefore, there is a need for creative solutions that effectively address plastic waste while adding high value. The research method employed was a qualitative approach involving the collection of data through interviews, observations, and documentation, guided by a framework of nine key elements. This method was used to assess the effectiveness of existing waste management strategies and to determine whether these approaches meet the criteria for sustainable materials.
