Abstract

Abstract: Various socio-cognitive challenges faced by high school students often hinder the optimal development of adolescents, while the effectiveness of group counseling services utilizing modeling techniques to address this issue has yielded inconsistent results in previous studies. Thus, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of modeling-based group counseling in reducing cyberbully behavior in students of SMA X Surakarta. This study used a quasi-experimental approach with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of 16 students selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a cyberbullying scale that has a Cronbach's Alpha reliability coefficient of 0.88. Data analysis techniques applied included the Wilcoxon test to see changes after treatment and the Mann-Whitney U test to compare the two groups. The results of this study indicate that group counseling with modeling techniques is effective against cyberbully in students. This is based on the results of the Z value = -3.368 with an Asymp. Sig. value. (2-tailed) (0.01≤0.05) which means there is a difference in the cyberbullying scores between the experimental group and the control group after being given treatment.
