Abstract

The climate crisis is not only an environmental issue but also an ethical and communicative challenge in the digital age. This article reinterprets ecofeminism through Gadamerian hermeneutics and Seyyed Hossein Nasr’s Islamic ecotheology to construct a framework of digital Islamic ethics for sustainable climate empowerment. Ecofeminism critiques patriarchal domination and promotes an ethics of care; Gadamerian hermeneutics emphasizes dialogical understanding and the fusion of horizons in interpreting ecological meaning; while Nasr’s ecotheology, rooted in tawhid, regards nature as āyāt (signs of God) and humanity as khalīfa (steward) entrusted to maintain creation. Integrating these perspectives, the study develops an ethical model for digital communication and Islamic environmental advocacy that fosters ecological justice, spiritual consciousness, and collective empowerment. The framework contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13, by emphasizing that digital ethics inspired by spiritual ecology can drive inclusive and sustainable climate action.
