Abstract

The phenomenon of child involvement in adult criminal cases is becoming increasingly evident in Indonesia, with various criminal cases involving children as perpetrators. There are several cases that show a trend of increasing involvement of children in adult crimes. The aim of this research is to explain the normative legal review of children's involvement in adult crime. This research will use qualitative research methods involving normative legal case analysis and literature studies. The results of the research show that the child perpetrator in the case of planned serious abuse, using AG case research, was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison for his involvement in the planned serious abuse of the victim David Ozzora. AG was found guilty and sentenced to prison at the Special Children's Development Institute because he was legally and convincingly proven to have committed the crime of serious abuse with prior planning. The conclusion is that there is a balance between justice, rehabilitation and protection of children's rights. The handling of cases like this underscores the importance of a juvenile criminal justice system that focuses on rehabilitative and restorative approaches, while still considering the seriousness of the offense and the need for victim protection.
