Abstract

Children are the successors and bearers of national responsibility. They must have sufficient opportunities to grow and develop comprehensively, encompassing physical, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions. Parenting is crucial in the process of child development. This study aims to examine parental care patterns that influence children in committing violent criminal acts, serving as a recommendation for Community Guidance Counselors (PK). The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with direct observation of juvenile violent offenders and their parents. Findings reveal that permissive, authoritarian, and neglectful parenting styles significantly contribute to children's violent behavior. Parenting approaches that do not support children's moral, emotional, and social development emerge as a primary cause of criminal acts. Furthermore, family economic factors and internal family conflicts exacerbate the situation. The study recommends parenting-based coaching that optimally supports child development, with active PK involvement in providing interventions and advice to families. These results are expected to reduce recidivism and help children lead more positive lives.
