<![CDATA[As the number of foreign prisoners from various countries with different language backgrounds increases, communication challenges become more apparent and complex. Effective communication is key in the implementation of rehabilitation programs, both in the process of delivering information, skills training, and mental and social development. However, language barriers often hinder the understanding and active participation of foreign prisoners in various rehabilitation activities. This study aims to analyze the language barriers faced by foreign prisoners in the rehabilitation process in correctional institutions. The research method used qualitative methods with in-depth interviews and participatory observation as the main techniques of data collection with correctional officers and foreign prisoners in correctional institutions. The results show that language barriers not only lead to miscommunication, but also have an impact on the psychological condition of foreign prisoners, such as feelings of alienation, stress, and low self-confidence. In addition, language differences among fellow foreign prisoners also create barriers to social interaction and collaboration in rehabilitation activities. This study recommends the use of professional translators, assistive technology tools for translation, as well as language training programs for officers and prisoners to improve communication and effectiveness of rehabilitation programs. It is expected that the results of this study can serve as a reference for policy makers to create rehabilitation programs that are more inclusive, effective, and adaptive to the needs of foreign prisoners]]>
