Abstract

This study aims to see how technology adoption plays an important role in shaping the entrepreneurial orientation of MSME owners, which will ultimately encourage the formation of export intentions. The data in this study are 207 MSME owners. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires online. The data obtained will then be processed using SEM-PLS. This study shows that technology adoption has an influence on entrepreneurial orientation. Entrepreneurial orientation also has an influence on export intention. In addition, entrepreneurial orientation is able to mediate the influence of technology adoption on export intention. However, financial access is unable to moderate the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on export intention. Previous studies tend to focus on managerial factors, entrepreneurial orientation, or external market constraints that influence exports, without placing technology adoption as a prerequisite or main driver in the process.
