Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using audio-print media in improving ball control skills among athletes at the YF 13 Lubuklinggau Football School (SSB). The primary issue addressed is the low mastery of basic ball control techniques, often caused by the limitations of instructional media in combining visual and auditory stimuli simultaneously. The research employed a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Posttest experimental design, involving a total sampling of 10 athletes. The research instrument consisted of a validated ball control skill test based on five indicators: body position, position relative to the ball, use of foot parts, quality of first touch, and direction of ball control. Raw data analysis showed a significant surge in individual performance; pretest scores ranged from 6 to 10, while posttest scores improved substantially to a range of 16 to 20. The overall results showed an increase in the average score from (40.5) in the pretest to (87.0) in the posttest. The N-Gain analysis yielded an average score of (0.775), classified as high effectiveness. The study concludes that the integration of audio-print media significantly contributes to enhancing motor coordination and "ball feel," enabling more precise technical mastery compared to conventional methods. These findings authorize the integration of audio-print media as a standard instrument in early childhood soccer training curricula.
