Physical activity is one of the determinants of health that can improve quality of life and prevent many chronic diseases. Lack of physical activity can lead to negative impacts on individual and public health, such as increased disease burden and health costs. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between age and gender with the level of physical activity of the community during the pandemic. This research used a cross-sectional study design. The research was conducted in February - April 2021. The population in this study were residents in Southeast Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. The sampling technique used was incidental sampling, the sample was obtained as many as 178 respondents. The instrument used in this study was the Baecke Questionnaire to measure the level of physical activity. Physical activity scores were interpreted into 3 categorys, including light physical activity (score <5.6), moderate physical activity (5.6 7.9), and heavy physical activity (>7.9). Univariate statistical analysis to analyse the frequency distribution of age and gender variables. While Bivariate analysis to analyse the relationship between variables of age, gender and physical activity level. The results of chi-square analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between gender and physical activity level (p-value = 0.000). The relationship between age and physical activity level, p-value (0.516) indicates that there is no significant relationship between age and physical activity level. There was a significant relationship between gender and physical activity levels. However, when looking at the relationship between age and physical activity levels, it shows that there is no significant relationship between age and physical activity levels. The results of this study can provide theoretical and empirical contributions in the field of public health science, especially regarding factors that affect community physical activity.
