Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional regulation on Islamic conduct among students at Pesantren Al Muslimun (Islamic boarding school). The independent variable was measured through three indicators of emotional regulation, while the dependent variable encompassed politeness, discipline, and Islamic ethics. A quantitative approach was employed with a total sample of 114 twelfth-grade students. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire tested for validity and reliability. Descriptive analysis revealed that both emotional regulation and Islamic conduct ranged from moderately high to high. Pearson correlation indicated a significant positive relationship, and simple linear regression showed that emotional regulation accounted for 38% of the variance in Islamic conduct (R² = .38). These findings highlight emotional regulation as a crucial factor in shaping students’ Islamic character. Moreover, this study enriches the literature by proposing an integrative model of Islamic emotional regulation, integrating psychological and spiritual dimensions in the pesantren educational framework.
