Abstract

Anemia is a common problem faced by young women, especially in Indonesia. One of the causes is a lack of iron in the body, which can lead to decreased concentration in learning, fatigue, and many other impacts. The Student Work Lecture (KKM) group 35 of Bina Bangsa University in Margagiri Village, specifically at SMPN 2 Pagelaran, implemented a health work program on anemia prevention and the provision of iron tablets. This activity was attended by 50 female students aged between 12 and 15 years. Only 7th-grade female students participated in the HB examination. This activity also collaborated with the Pagelaran Community Health Center and was carried out through several stages, including HB screening, anemia prevention education, and the provision of iron tablets. From the results obtained, 25% were indicated to have mild anemia. The material presented included the definition of anemia, signs and symptoms, the impact of anemia, and how to prevent anemia. The enthusiasm and activeness of the students in the discussion session were very positive. This activity aims to raise awareness of the dangerous effects of anemia and reduce its prevalence by providing iron tablets to female students. Therefore, it is hoped that similar educational programs can be implemented sustainably in other schools to increase overall awareness of anemia among young women.
