Abstract

The development of digital technology, increasing individualism, social polarization, and the ecological crisis are challenges faced by young people today. This situation demands a development model that is not only oriented towards knowledge development, but also character formation that integrates social, spiritual, and ecological dimensions. Franciscan Camp 2026 was held as a community service program that aims to internalize the values ​​of Franciscan spirituality through four main pillars, namely charity, fraternity, peace, and care for all creation. The activity was held on August 29–30, 2026 at the Saint Francis of Assisi Pastoral Catechetical College (STPKat) Semarang, involving 50 high school/vocational high school students in grades X–XII from 13 schools in Semarang City and its surroundings. Evaluation was carried out in a participatory manner through observation, written reflection, and group discussions. The results of the program demonstrate the development of empathy and a spirit of service, the strengthening of inclusive fraternal relationships, an increased awareness of the importance of reconciliation and peace, and a growing ecological responsibility as part of living out the Christian faith. The program also produced a model for youth character development based on Franciscan spirituality that integrates values, experience, reflection, and action. These findings demonstrate that Franciscan spirituality remains relevant as an approach to youth development and has the potential to be replicated in the context of schools, parishes, and Catholic youth communities.
