Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that is the main focus of the Indonesian government. The government targets reducing the prevalence of stunting nationally by 2024 by 14%. The results of the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) show that the prevalence of stunting in Semarang Regency is at 18.7%. One program to address this problem is the provision of supplementary food (PMT) based on local food. The aim of this research was to determine the differences in nutritional status before and after the PMT program made from local food for stunted toddlers in Kalijambe Village and Tanjung Village, Bringin District, Semarang Regency. This research is a quasi-experimental research using a pre-test and post-test group design. A sample of 14 toddlers was taken using a total sampling technique in accordance with the inclusion criteria. The intervention is PMT made from local food for 90 days. Body weight data was collected using a digital Camry scale (accuracy of 0.1 kg) and height using an Endo brand stadiometer (accuracy of 0.1 cm). The results of the average nutritional status based on BW/U before the intervention were -2.24 SD and after the intervention were -2.09, SD, the average nutritional status based on TB/U before the intervention was -2.57 SD and after the intervention, namely -2.36 SD, and the average nutritional status based on BW/TB before the intervention was -0.90 SD and after the intervention was -1.03 SD. There was a difference in the nutritional status of toddlers based on height for age (TB/U) with a value of p=0.037 between before and after local supplementary feeding (PMT), but no differences were found in other nutritional status indices.
