Abstract

Writing this journal aims to explain the meaning and history of modernization and secularization in Islamic thought in Turkey, where discussion of the modernization and secularization of Islam in Turkey is not something new. Several journals on Turkish history that have been circulating make something special in an educational history journal that was born in Turkey. But writing this as a way of education in Turkey to make modernization and secularization have a long history of the birth of modernization and secularization for Muslim countries that pay great attention to education. In addition, the thought of secularization has a background in the opinion of a sultan “the state should be combined with the concept of Islam which has indeed combined state affairs with religious affairs and political ideology”. The concept of secularization influenced the Turkish modernist group under the leadership of Kemal Attaturk
