Abstract

The world of modern-contemporary thought in Islam continues to experience an increase in its studies. The problems studied are no longer only about the main issues (ushul) but have widened to the range of things that are not explained in the Texts (furu’). This makes Islamic studies more colorful. As for diversity, it is a phenomenon which can also become and endless conflict. The Islamic study of diversity becomes a basic for newer thoughts in Islam. This paper will explain how diversity and its issues as well as religious applications and responses to fundamentalist, revivalist, modernis and tradisionalist movements.
