Online buying and selling transactions can be legal or illegal, not the act of buying and selling itself. As long as the transaction is carried out in accordance with Islamic law and of course there is no aspect of fraud, coercion or abuse, then it is permissible to buy and sell goods online. In Islam, buying and selling is essentially carried out on the basis of agreement, therefore there is never any pressure to make a purchase. Buying and selling by selling basic objects or non-cash, is the opinion of the majority of ulama who allow transactions on ready stock goods, but which are then handed over or sent by online sellers.
