<![CDATA[One example of technology advancement is Shopee Paylater, which makes it simple to shop using a buy now, pay later model. However, notwithstanding if such transactions are permitted in Islam or not, individuals are still cautious to use it. The purpose of this study is to ascertain and evaluate the usage of Shopee Paylater and an analysis of Shopee Paylater electronic money loans in light of Islamic law. The approach used is descriptive qualitative research, namely library research, where the author discusses the use of Shopee Paylater electronic money before studying it from the perspective of Islamic law. The findings of this study demonstrate that utilizing Shopee Paylater is not permitted since it violates sharia principles in a number of ways, including various requirements that contain riba and need additional payments and fines, as well as several aspects that go against a Fatwa. DSN-MUI No: 116 / DSN-MUI / IX / 2017 also mentions the usage of electronic money acquired without making a deposit first but instead in the form of loans given in the form of limit, although the limit obtained cannot be discharged in physical form and contains riba. By employing an ijarah contract as a type of application rental fee, further charges or usury can be avoided. However, if paylater online shopping is only used as a means of payment for products, there are no usurious transactions involved, and there are no additional costs while paylater online shopping is used, then this is permitted.]]>
