Abstract

Patriarchy and toxic masculinity are movements that are currently being promoted in the interests of gender equality. This influences the Islamic religious perspective which goes hand in hand with these principles. Apart from that, patriarchy and toxic masculinity also have various impacts on the social environment. Many young adults have joined this movement. Therefore, the aim of this research is to describe the level of patriarchy and toxic masculinity on campus in Banjarmasin and to determine the influence of the patriarchal movement and toxic masculinity on social aspects and mental health. Data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews. This research data is in the form of words resulting from questionnaires and interviews which have been analyzed. The data analysis technique uses three stages, namely data collection, data reduction, and data verification. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there are still many students in Banjarmasin who are victims of patriarchy and toxic masculinity
