Abstract

The practice of ablution (wudhu) in Islam is not just a religious ritual; it also holds profound implications for human physical and spiritual health. The process of washing the hands, face, arms, head, and feet during ablution not only maintains physical cleanliness by removing impurities but also has the potential to prevent the spread of diseases. Beyond the realm of physical hygiene, this practice also instills a sense of freshness, tranquility, and psychological well-being for those who perform it. Although research has highlighted the cleanliness benefits and psychological effects of ablution, studies focusing on its overall impact on public health remain limited. Scientific inquiries tend to concentrate on religious aspects and psychological effects, creating a crucial gap in understanding the potential health benefits of ablution within the context of public health. This research aims to bridge this knowledge gap by exploring the physical health benefits of ablution and its broader implications for public health. Thus, this study provides comprehensive insights into the correlation between this religious practice and its physical health benefits, which could contribute significantly to improving public health overall.
