Abstract

Religion and politics are two interrelated and inseparable phenomena. In South Kalimantan, religion and politics have a long history of mutual influence. The spread of Islam in South Kalimantan began in the 15th century, and Islam has been the majority religion in the region since the 17th century. Islam has played an important role in shaping the identity of the people of South Kalimantan, and has been a unifying factor for people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds.The pattern of Islamic politics in South Kalimantan has its own characteristics. This is evident in the role of various Islamic groups and figures in the development of politics in the region. Islamic groups in South Kalimantan have a diverse range of views and ideologies, ranging from moderate Islamic groups to radical Islamic groups.The pattern of Islamic politics has played an important role in shaping the identity and political trajectory of South Kalimantan. This is evident in the spread of Islam to other parts of Kalimantan, as well as the influence of Islam in the political life of the people of South Kalimantan.
