<![CDATA[The phenomenon of wearing the hijab creates a space that is increasingly being paid attention to. The use of the hijab is increasing among female athletes in various sports. This research discusses the fashion appearance of Zahra Lari, a figure skater from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Figure skating is a sport where people dance in on the ice wearing a tight costume. This type of tight clothing is aerodynamic and light, allowing athletes to move easily without feeling too burdened. Zahra Lari became the first athlete to wear a hijab at the 2012 European Winter Championships in Italy. Zahra Lari received a point deduction in the competition This was due to her unusual use of the hijab. After losing points, Zahra Lari felt she had been treated unfairly and complained to the International Skating Union (ISU). The ISU finally accepted the appeal, and since then many skaters have started wearing the hijab in various competitions. The focus of this research is Zahra Lari's effort to get figure skating costume models to wear hijabs. The aim of this research is to explain how Zahra Lari responds to the culture of acceptance of participating in international figure skating events by not abandoning her attitudes and attitude towards life in dress. Qualitative methods are used in this research. Collection method data was conducted using a media survey in Indonesian and English as well as long distance interviews. Interviews were conducted with Zahra Lari as the main informant. Interviews were also conducted with Kuwaiti figure skating coaches and Kuwaiti national figure skaters. The results of the research showed that the cultural negotiations carried out by Zahra Lari influenced harmony culture in the sport of figure skating.]]>
