Abstract

Islam as a relevant teaching provides comprehensive guidance in various aspects of life, including health and medicine. This article discusses the use of the Qur'an and hadith as a basis for the development of modern herbal medicine, focusing on various plants that have been mentioned in Islamic sources. Honey, black cumin (habbatussauda), ginger, olives, and pomegranates are examples of plants that not only have traditional value, but are also supported by modern research that shows their health benefits, such as antibacterial, anti- inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. The research method used is qualitative, through literature searches and content analysis of various journals and scientific articles. The results of the study indicate that herbal-based medicine, which refers to Islamic teachings, can be an effective and safe alternative in maintaining health. Thus, a deeper understanding of the efficacy of herbal plants from an Islamic perspective is expected to encourage people to apply herbal medicine that is in accordance with sharia, while at the same time developing the potential of modern herbal medicine in Indonesia
