Abstract

This research discusses the importance of multidisciplinary discussions among medical professionals, families, and religious leaders in making Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) decisions among Muslim patients. The study aims to explore the understanding and acceptance of bioethical principles such as patient autonomy and non-maleficence in the context of DNR. A qualitative approach and surveys were employed to gather data, revealing that the majority of respondents agree that DNR decisions should involve multidisciplinary discussions. The findings indicate that the Indonesian Ulema Council's fatwa supports the implementation of DNR in specific situations, emphasizing clear medical assessment and patient welfare. The research recommends further exploration of DNR implementation in various Muslim communities and enhancing education to reduce misunderstandings. Limitations include a small number of respondents and a restricted location, necessitating broader research for a more comprehensive understanding
