Abstract

The intention of this study is to respond to the exigence of responding from an Islamic perspective to LGBTQ+ issues in modern society. The LGBTQ+ is an acronym that refers to an arrangement of sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions that are not cisgender or heterosexual. Moreover, an acronym can incorporate the "+" symbol to encompass individuals who identify with a gender identity or sexual orientation not represented by the acronym's letters. In this modern era, the LGBTQ+ is an issue that has become one of the most discussed topics in various parts of the world, including in countries with a Muslim majority. In this context, the challenge faced by Muslim communities is how to uphold Islamic morals while still interacting with the evolving social reality. This research uses a qualitative method, the study of social phenomena; one of them is about LGBTQ+, by using legal content analysis in the journal, electronic documents, written documents, pictures, and mass media. After that, modern society understands what the effect of LGBTQ+ dissemination is. Therefore, the community is aware to refuse LGBTQ+ things by verses of the holy Quran and hadith.
