Zikr provides mental calmness and a spiritual approach to Allah that gives individuals an optimistic attitude. Zikr can nourish the nerves and produce endorphins that provide inner peace and tranquility as well as increase the body's immune system. In terms of respiratory aspects, zikr is associated with mindfulness which focuses on the control of breathing. It also helps to release carbon dioxide from the brain.
