Abstract

This study discusses the translation of Alison Taylor’s business book, Higher Ground: How Business Can Do the Right Thing in a Turbulent World, from English into Indonesian. The objectives are to identify translation problems and determine appropriate strategies to solve them. This research uses a qualitative annotated translation method with introspective and retrospective approaches. The findings show 35 translation problems categorized into understanding, transfer, and combined understanding-transfer problems, with transfer problems being the most dominant. Several strategies were applied, including paraphrasing, modulation, synonymy, cultural equivalence, and explicitness change. Paraphrasing was the most frequently used strategy, especially for idiomatic and culturally bound expressions. Keywords: annotated translation, business book, translation strategies
