Abstract

The rapid evolution of the digital era has significantly altered the characteristics of learners, necessitating a paradigm shift in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Traditional instructional methods often fail to bridge the gap between religious doctrine and the interactive nature of 21st-century digital life. This study aims to formulate a strategic framework for IT-based instructional design in PAI that integrates modern pedagogical theories with Islamic values. Employing a library research approach, this study analyzes various scientific literatures, including reference books and reputable journals, using an inductive thematic analysis. The findings reveal that an effective PAI instructional design must be student-centered, utilizing the TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) framework and blended learning models such as the flipped classroom. Furthermore, the integration of digital platforms (LMS, interactive media) must follow systematic models like ADDIE to ensure that technology serves as a catalyst for both cognitive understanding and the internalization of akhlaqul karimah (noble character). Digital transformation in PAI is not merely about adopting tools but about re-envisioning the pedagogical bond between teacher and student. This framework provides a blueprint for educators to create a learning environment that is academically rigorous, technologically adaptive, and spiritually profound.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the interaction between Qur’anic metaphors and modern cognition through the Conceptual Metaphor Theory (CMT) approach. The study is based on the assumption that metaphors in the Qur’an function not merely as rhetorical devices, but also reflect underlying cognitive structures that shape human understanding of abstract reality. The research employs a qualitative-descriptive method with a conceptual analysis approach, involving the identification, classification, and mapping of conceptual metaphors in Qur’anic verses into source domains and target domains as formulated in CMT. The discussion focuses on how Qur’anic metaphors—such as light, path, heart, and scale—resonate with universal cognitive mechanisms that are also recognized in contemporary cognitive linguistic studies. The findings indicate that Qur’anic metaphors exhibit strong conceptual correspondence with human cognitive patterns, while simultaneously enriching and extending modern conceptual metaphor frameworks through transcendental and ethical dimensions. In conclusion, the CMT approach enables a deeper understanding of Qur’anic metaphors as cognitive-religious constructs that remain relevant across time, and it opens an epistemological dialogue between Qur’anic studies and contemporary cognitive linguistics.
