Abstract

In an era of dynamic change, educational institutions play a central role in shaping the future of society through education. Open materials must be tailored to the needs of students in the learning process. One open material designed to achieve specific skills is an interactive module. The purpose of this study was to analyze the need for developing an interactive module based on local wisdom through the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) learning model. The needs questionnaire was divided into several indicators such as interactive modules, local wisdom, the CPS model, and creative thinking skills. Data collection was conducted using a survey method through a questionnaire distributed digitally to respondents including teachers in Siak Regency and students at SMP Negeri 01 Siak. The results of the needs analysis found that there was a dominant use of PowerPoint media, thus opening opportunities for diversification of open materials. Then there was alignment between students' desires for interesting modules and the practices of teachers who have adopted the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) approach. Then there was a picture between the high interest of students (71.4%) in the integration of local wisdom Sika with the limited awareness of teachers (47.6%) of its potential in science learning. Therefore, developing interactive modules based on local wisdom with CPS is a strategic solution to meet learning needs while bridging these meetings.
