Abstract

Student obedience plays an important role in shaping character and moral values within Islamic boarding school environments. This study, conducted at Hasan Jufri Putra Islamic Boarding School in Bawean, East Java, Indonesia, aims to explore how student obedience is developed through the implementation of institutional rules, administrative consistency, and the use of the tadrib (disciplinary training) method. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that clearly defined rules, consistently enforced by administrators who serve as role models of appropriate conduct, significantly contribute to the development of student obedience. Students comply with institutional rules not merely because of formal obligations but also because of an internalized sense of respect and responsibility. The tadrib method further reinforces disciplinary practices and fosters collective awareness among students. The integration of structured regulations, consistent leadership, and systematic disciplinary training contributes to the development of a strong culture of obedience within the Islamic boarding school. This study provides contextual insights into how discipline, obedience, and moral values can be effectively cultivated within Islamic educational institutions.
