Abstract

Sandur is a traditional art form that continues to be preserved in Klampis District, Bangkalan Regency. Besides serving as entertainment and a means of cultural preservation, Sandur provides economic benefits through the involvement of artists and economic activities surrounding performances. This study aims to analyze the role of Sandur as a source of community income and its economic practices from an Islamic Economic perspective. This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation involving 12 informants consisting of Sandur artists, the group leader, performance organizers, and religious and community leaders. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing with the assistance of NVivo 14. Data validity was strengthened through source triangulation and member checking. The results show that Sandur contributes to increasing community income by providing additional earnings for artists, creating business opportunities, and encouraging local economic activities. Sandur’s economic practices reflect the principles of halal income, justice, transparency, and public benefit. Thus, Sandur contributes to cultural preservation while supporting community welfare in accordance with Islamic Economic principles.
