Abstract

Bali's tourism development remains concentrated in a few regions, leaving western areas such as Jembrana Regency underdeveloped despite their natural, cultural, and agricultural potential. Nusasari Village, a cacao-producing area with distinctive rural landscapes and local culture, offers opportunities for agritourism development. This study aims to identify the tourism potential of Nusasari Village and design a community-based agritourism packaging model as a strategy for sustainable rural tourism development. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with 15 purposively selected informants, and documentation. Tourism potential was analyzed using the 7A framework (attraction, activities, accessibility, amenities, attitude, ambience, and accelerator), while the packaging model was developed by integrating package concept, activity structure, supporting facilities, pricing, and promotion strategies. The findings reveal that Nusasari Village possesses significant potential for cacao-based agritourism, supported by educational activities, community support, and a peaceful rural atmosphere. The proposed packaging model consists of two tour options—full-day (8.5 hours) and half-day (3 hours)—that combine learning, participation, product processing, cultural exploration, and recreation. The model contributes to the literature on community-based agritourism by demonstrating how local potential can be systematically packaged into structured, marketable, and sustainable tourism products while preserving cultural and environmental assets.
