Abstract

TPST 3R Gadingkulon in Malang Regency manages approximately 500–800 kg of waste per day, with around 70% consisting of organic waste. However, the management of organic waste has not been optimized, resulting in environmental problems and dependence on fossil energy. This community service program aims to implement a green energy system through biogas technology and improve community awareness regarding sustainable waste management. The method used employs a participatory approach consisting of field observation, training, installation of biodigester systems, and continuous assistance. Activities carried out including waste sorting training, implementation of organic waste processing into biogas and organic fertilizer, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test methods. The results show that the biogas system has been successfully implemented and is able to convert organic waste into renewable energy and useful products. In addition, an increase in community knowledge and participation in waste management has also been observed. Taken together, this program contributes to reducing environmental pollution, lowering operational energy costs, and increasing the economic value of waste.
