Abstract

This study aimed to develop an interactive flipbook learning media on three-dimensional geometry that meets the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving the spatial literacy of fifth-grade students at SDN Susukan 04 Pagi. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, which consists of the Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The research subjects included 15 students in the small-group trial and 29 students in the large-group trial. The research instruments consisted of validation sheets completed by media, material, and language experts, teacher and student response questionnaires, and a spatial literacy test administered using a One-Group Pretest–Posttest design. Data were analyzed using percentage analysis to determine validity and practicality, while the N-Gain test was used to measure effectiveness. The results showed that the interactive flipbook achieved a validity score of 86.4% from media experts, 96.2% from material experts, and 93.1% from language experts, all of which were categorized as highly valid. The practicality test also indicated very high results, with scores of 96.83% in the small-group trial, 95.60% in the large-group trial, and 98.75% based on teachers' evaluations. Furthermore, the effectiveness test yielded N-Gain scores of 63.48% and 75.11% in the small- and large-group trials, respectively, both categorized as moderately effective. Therefore, the developed interactive flipbook is considered valid, practical, and effective for use as a mathematics learning medium on three-dimensional geometry to enhance elementary school students' spatial literacy.
