Abstract

This study aims to examines the meaning of ritual communication in the termination procession of Silat Cikak Bengkulu, marking a student’s transition into a trainer or tradition bearer. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, the findings show that the ritual is not just ceremonial but fosters unity, conveys symbolic meanings, encourages community participation, and ensures cultural continuity. Verbal and non-verbal interactions reflect spiritual values and identity. The ritual’s transcendental dimension strengthens connections with God and ancestors. Through symbolic interactionism in the termination procession, elements like jambar rice, white cloth, langiran, black-and-white headbands, and incense shape students’ perceptions (Mind), internalize identity (Self), and instill a duty (Society) to preserve Silat Cikak for future generations.
