Abstract

Anisakidosis is a parasitic zoonosis transmitted through the consumption of raw or undercooked fish. This condition represents an important epidemiological concern in Sangihe Islands Regency, where the prevalence of parasites in fish intended for consumption is 10.7% and the seroprevalence of human antibodies is 52.67%, potentially reflecting local dietary practices involving raw fish dishes such as Kinilo. In response, a participatory dissemination approach was implemented and successfully established collaborative commitment among local stakeholders, which was realized through a four-pillar strategic action plan. The dissemination activity involved 25 stakeholders and facilitated stakeholder engagement, technology transfer, and the formulation of preliminary follow-up commitments. This initiative also demonstrates the potential applicability of a participatory One Health governance approach in archipelagic regions facing challenges related to foodborne zoonotic diseases. The evaluation results indicate that this approach not only enhancesconceptual understanding of disease prevention but also establishes a One Health governance model applicable to archipelagic regions, in which the integration of human, animal, and environmental health contributes substantially to strengthening the resilience of local food systems.
