Abstract

Indonesia has a vast marine area, including the island of Sumatra, which is surrounded by the sea, particularly the archipelago or open sea. From this marine area, a diverse range of natural tourism attractions emerge. The exposure of marine tourism in Sumatra becomes a significant potential for the region's tourism. One of the areas in Sumatra that is a conservation zone is Teluk Kiluan, which is crucial to introduce this conservation area to the Lampung community, particularly to the younger generation. Elementary school children should be more aware of, protect, and love their own marine area. Regarding general knowledge, media literacy plays a significant role in children's learning. Media literacy in the form of books can facilitate cognitive and motor development. Many elementary school children, especially those aged 10-12, already understand what they want, such as preferences and genres of a book. Children also enjoy something with pictures and can be touched, so interactive illustrated books become an attractive medium to discuss the topic of Teluk Kiluan conservation area for children.
