Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve the learning process and cognitive learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) through the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model among fourth-grade students at SDN 036/VI Rantau Panjang. The study involved 32 students and was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through teacher and student observation sheets and learning-outcome tests, then analyzed using percentages and classical mastery criteria. The findings showed progressive improvement. Teacher performance increased from 68% and 78% in Cycle I to 84% and 94% in Cycle II. Student learning-process achievement rose from 31.25% and 43.75% to 62% and 78%. Classical learning mastery increased from 31% in the pre-action stage to 53% in Cycle I and 81% in Cycle II. Therefore, NHT improved participation, cooperation, responsibility, and IPAS learning outcomes.
