Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the effect of cognitive ability and reward on job performance of teachers in Nurul Fikri institution. This research was conducted at the Nurul Fikri institution as the non-formal education (out-of school institution) in Jakarta. The method used to analyze this research is the causal study. The sample of this research were 66 teachers that were selected randomly. From this research results were found that; (1) there is a direct effect of cognitive ability on job performance; (2) there is a direct effect of reward on job performance; and (3) there is a direct effect of cognitive ability on reward. According to the findings, it could be concluded that job performance of the teachers were effected by cognitive ability and reward. And cognitive ability is the most dominant effect to improve job performance of the teachers. In the other words, we can say that the higher cognitive ability will improve the reward received and the quality of job performance. Finally it’s concluded that cognitive ability and reward should be considered in improving job performance of the teachers

Abstract

The institution of education has a role to realize the vision, mission and goals of the national education system. Therefore, the institution has to be be fully supported by the government through the public policies. In addition to budget 20% of the national budget in the field of education, providing tax incentives to educational institutions is a fresh air for the advancement of education program in Indonesia. With the facilities such as an incentives or tax reduction or tax exemption, the government hopes that the educational instituion will develop the education and learning process thus will ultimately improve the quality of students and human resources in Indonesia in general

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem penghargaan terhadap kinerja dosen di lingkungan Universitas Islam “45” Bekasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey dan teknik kausal dan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan alat bantu kuesioner yang disebar kepada 40 orang Dosen Tetap Yayasan Unisma“45”Bekasi yang menjadi sampel penelitian.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penghargaan memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kinerja dosen walaupun dalam persentase yang rendah yaitu 4,5%. Penghargaan intrinsik sebagai penghargaan yang bersumber dari dalam diri dosen memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dibandingkan penghargaan ekstrinsik yang diterima oleh dosen dari institusi yaitu sebesar 68%.

Abstract

Cross-disciplinary scientific collaboration and expertise continue to be encouraged to increase the productivity of higher-quality research and produce reputable scientific publications. This effort is important considering that collaboration and research output are still among the benchmarks of scientific progress in Indonesia; until now, they are considered not to have reached an optimal level. One of the efforts to improve the quality and productivity of research is through the formation of an effective research team. This study aims to analyze the determinants of team effectiveness formation, consisting of shared leadership and team cohesion. The study used a quantitative approach involving 240 research respondents from various research teams in universities and research institutions in Indonesia. The research model was developed through three main theories: Human Resource Management and Group Dynamics as grand theories; Organizational Behavior as a middle theory; and the IPO Framework as an applied theory. The results of the analysis using PLS-SEM show that team cohesion has a direct, positive, and significant influence on team effectiveness, while shared leadership has a positive and significant influence on team effectiveness both directly and indirectly through team cohesion. Team cohesion has proven to be a positive mediator and has a significant influence in bridging the effect of shared leadership on team effectiveness. This means that shared leadership can increase team effectiveness if all team members are cohesive.
