Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of communication and the work environment on employee performance, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable, at PT BPR Gunung Rizki Pusaka Utama Semarang. The research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method through the distribution of questionnaires to employees as respondents. The sampling technique used a Likert scale, and the data were analyzed using SPSS. The results show that communication has a positive and significant effect on both job satisfaction and employee performance. The work environment also has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and employee performance. The role of job satisfaction as an intervening variable is proven to be able to mediate the effect of communication and the work environment on employee performance. This study is expected to serve as a consideration for management in improving employee performance through more effective management of communication and the work environment.
