Abstract

Employee performance is one of the important factors in supporting the achievement of organizational goals. Based on initial observations at the Bogor Regency Central Statistics Agency, several problems related to employee performance were still found, such as lack of initiative in completing tasks, delays in completing administrative work, untimely submission of reports, and less-than-optimal compliance with work schedules and established procedures. These conditions indicate the importance of paying attention to work motivation and work discipline in improving employee performance. This study aims to determine the influence of work motivation and work discipline on employee performance at the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), both partially and simultaneously. An associative quantitative research method was employed, with data collected via a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to all employees using a saturated sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software, encompassing validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and the coefficient of determination test. The results indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Work discipline, however, does not have a significant effect on employee performance. Simultaneously, work motivation and work discipline exert a positive and significant influence on employee performance at the Bogor Regency Central Statistics Agency, with work motivation being the more dominant factor. These findings demonstrate that enhancing work motivation can improve employee performance; therefore, the organization needs to prioritize this factor, alongside maintaining work discipline, in its efforts to enhance service quality and achieve organizational goals.
