Abstract

Health information in the Bulungan District Health Office has primarily been presented through narrative descriptions and tables, limiting the rapid identification of differences in health conditions across Community Health Center working areas. This community engagement activity aimed to strengthen staff capacity to prepare thematic health maps by providing a practical QGIS module tailored to health profile preparation. The activity used a problem-solving sequence consisting of situation analysis and problem identification, problem prioritization using the Bryant method, cause analysis using the six-factor framework (man, method, material, money, machine, and environment), solution prioritization using CARL, module development, and feasibility evaluation. The priority problem was the underuse of thematic maps, while the priority solution was the preparation of thematic health maps by Community Health Center working area supported by a QGIS module. The module covered software installation, data preparation, spatial and tabular data integration, symbolization, labeling, map layout, export, and troubleshooting. Eight assessors evaluated the module using a four-point Likert scale, producing a mean score of 3.86/4, categorized as highly feasible. The findings indicate that the module is a feasible practical resource for supporting staff in integrating spatial information into health profile preparation. Continued use should be accompanied by hands-on practice, periodic updating of the module, and assignment of staff responsible for maintaining spatial data and map production.
