Abstract

Digitech Publishing is a publishing entity that previously relied on a direct-link system via WhatsApp for book purchases. This system had shortcomings regarding transaction data management, as administrators were required to record data manually, creating a risk of losing order history. This study aimed to develop the backend of an e-commerce information system using the Laravel framework by integrating an online order form with a MySQL database and incorporating a feature for uploading proof of payment. The Rapid Application Development (RAD) method was employed, comprising the stages of Requirement Planning, User Design, Construction, and Cutover. The results demonstrate that with this new system, every transaction made by a buyer is automatically stored in a centralized database. Furthermore, the system sends real-time API-based notifications—containing order summaries and confirmation links—to the administrator's WhatsApp. Testing via Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) yielded a feasibility score of 87.23% (classified as "Highly Feasible"). This backend implementation successfully improved administrative operational efficiency regarding data archiving and transaction verification.
