Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of infographic media on the motivation and science learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTsN 1 Kota Makassar. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study consisted of all seventh-grade students in the 2023/2024 academic year, comprising 13 classes. The samples were Class VII Sains as the experimental group (34 students) and Class VII-5 Regular as the control group (33 students), selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments consisted of a learning motivation questionnaire and a science learning achievement test. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that the use of infographic media significantly affected students’ learning motivation and outcomes. The average motivation score increased from 77.44 to 88.97, and the average learning outcome score from 11.38 to 18.06. In contrast, the control group showed a slight increase, with motivation scores rising from 71.97 to 72.58 and learning outcomes from 10.82 to 14.24. The N-Gain values for the infographic group were 0.50 for motivation and 0.49 for learning outcomes (moderate category), while the control group scored 0.02 and 0.22 respectively (low category). These findings indicate that infographic media positively affect students' motivation and science learning outcomes.
