Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged the emergence of the Gig Economy as a new employment opportunity for Generation Z in Indonesia. The Gig Economy offers work flexibility and easy access to jobs through various digital platforms. This study aims to analyze the role of the Gig Economy as a job opportunity and to examine long-term job stability for Generation Z. This research uses a literature review method with a qualitative approach through the analysis of various scientific journals and academic articles. The results show that the Gig Economy provides employment opportunities and flexible sources of income for young people. However, jobs in the Gig Economy also face challenges such as income uncertainty, limited social protection, and low long-term job security. Therefore, more adaptive policies are needed to support the development of the digital economy.
