Abstract

This study examines the influence of internship experience and self-efficacy on the work readiness of students at Toraja Indonesian Christian University. Work readiness is essential for graduates to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive labor market. Internship experience enables students to gain practical workplace exposure, while self-efficacy strengthens their confidence in performing work-related tasks and overcoming challenges. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. A total of 91 respondents were selected using the Slovin formula, and the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that both internship experience and self-efficacy have a positive and significant effect on students’ work readiness, both individually and simultaneously. The t-test results show that internship experience (t = 3.857, p = 0.001) and self-efficacy (t = 8.368, p = 0.001) significantly influence work readiness. The F-test also confirms that the two variables jointly affect work readiness (F = 507.341, p < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.920) indicates that internship experience and self-efficacy explain 92% of the variance in work readiness, with self-efficacy emerging as the strongest predictor.
