Abstract

This study examines the practice of buying and selling vegetables and fruits directly on farmland in Prambon Village, Sidoarjo Regency, where buyers visit farmers and collect the harvest themselves. This practice emerged as a form of community adaptation during the Covid-19 pandemic and has continued after social restrictions ended. The study aims to describe the transaction mechanism and analyze it from the perspective of Islamic Economic Law according to Yusuf al-Qaradawi, particularly regarding trade ethics, maslahah, and the prohibition of talaqqi rukban (TR). This study employs an empirical legal method with a juridical-sociological approach. Primary data were collected through interviews and observations of farmers and buyers, while secondary data were obtained from fiqh muamalah literature, Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s works, and relevant regulations. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings show that transactions involve meeting, price quotation, bargaining, agreement, harvesting, and collection of goods by buyers. This practice benefits farmers by reducing marketing costs and time and minimizing the risk of harvest damage. From Yusuf al-Qaradawi’s perspective, the transaction is permissible when conducted voluntarily, free from fraud, and beneficial to both parties. It does not automatically constitute talaqqi rukban because there is no interception of farmers to exploit their lack of market information or cause them loss.
