Abstract

Maternal mortality due to pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia and bleeding can largely be prevented through early detection, but its success is highly dependent on the ability of pregnant women to recognize pregnancy danger signs and their regularity in undergoing antenatal care (ANC). This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of knowledge of pregnant women about pregnancy danger signs and compliance with the implementation of ANC at the West Passi Health Center. The design used was quantitative with a cross sectional approach, involving 22 pregnant women obtained through total sampling techniques. Data were collected using structured questionnaires that had been tested to be valid and reliable, then analyzed univariate and bivariate using the Chi-Square test and Spearman's rho correlation  at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the majority of respondents had knowledge in the sufficient category (54.5%), while most had complied with ANC visits (68.2%). The statistical test obtained a value of p = 0.004 at Chi-Square and a correlation coefficient of 0.675 with p = 0.001, which indicates a meaningful and relatively strong relationship between the two variables. It can be concluded that the better the understanding of pregnant women about the symptoms of pregnancy dangers, the higher their tendency to routinely check for pregnancy. These findings recommend strengthening more intensive health education for pregnant women with low understanding to reduce the risk of complications that can actually be prevented.
