Abstract

Elderly is a way of growth and development that must be passed by everyone. Each individual experiences different growth and development, starting from when they are babies, children, adults, to the elderly phase, which is a cycle of life. Hypertension is a condition of excessively high blood pressure that can become serious if not treated. This article aims to determine the relationship between family support and the quality of life of elderly people aged ≥60 years with hypertension. The method used is a mini literature review with the PICO framework to formulate the problem, namely Population: Elderly, Intervention: Family support including emotional, informative, and appreciation dimensions, Comparison: no specific comparison, Outcome: an increase in the quality of life of the elderly in the physical, psychological, social relationship, and environmental domains. The main literature used in the synthesis table is original research articles, while review articles, guidelines, and institutional reports are used as supporting references. A total of 16 research articles are used in the synthesis table. The results show that family support has an important role in improving the quality of life of elderly people with hypertension. Therefore, managing hypertension in older adults requires active family involvement through education and a holistic approach to achieve optimal quality of life.
