Indonesian migrant workers are an important part of the overseas workforce that makes a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy. However, legal protection for migrant workers still faces various challenges, especially in access to health services, social rights, and protection against violence in the workplace. Using a qualitative approach, this study analyzes laws and regulations related to the protection of migrant workers, the implementation of legal protection in practice, and offers recommendations to improve legal protection for migrant workers. The results of the study show that although there are regulations that regulate the protection of migrant workers, their implementation is still not optimal. The recommendations submitted include increasing bilateral cooperation specifically with cross-border humanitarian protection schemes, accelerating the discussion of the third amendment bill to the PPMI Law related to the amnesty clause, collaboration with non-governmental social security networks and the development of training programs for prospective migrant workers. It is hoped that the results of this research can contribute to improving the legal protection system for Indonesian migrant workers and protecting their rights more effectively.
